  • Democrat Doug Jones Wins Alabama Senate Race

Alabama's voters rejected the Senate candidacy of pedophile Roy Moore by electing Democrat Doug Jones.

Some of the credit for the Democratic victory has to go to Steve Bannon and Sarah Palin who ran a successful campaign during the GOP primary to hand the nomination to a pedophile who had been twice thrown off the Alabama Supreme Court. Karma bit them in the butt.

The Republican Senate Leadership Fund issued this statement recognizing Steve Bannon's efforts to blow the Alabama Senate race.

SLF President and CEO Steven Law’s Statement on Alabama Special Election Results

    December 13, 2017
WASHINGTON, DC – Senate Leadership Fund President and CEO Steven Law released the following statement regarding the Alabama U.S. Senate special election results:
“This is a brutal reminder that candidate quality matters regardless of where you are running. Not only did Steve Bannon cost us a critical Senate seat in one of the most Republican states in the country, but he also dragged the President of the United States into his fiasco.”

Alabama Democrats seem delighted with the results.

Looks like President Trump should have kept his nose out of it. Moore was a shoe-in until Trump endorsed him causing him to lose. Steve Bannon forced this guy into the position so we should be thankful that Bannon found the only Republican in Alabama that couldn't win.

    Donald Trump tweets he deleted:
    • The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.
    • He [Obama] lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!
    • More votes equals a loss...revolution!

Trump spent his first year in office antagonizing black voters. They turned out against Trump and Moore in massive numbers.

Meanwhile, the GOP is sailing into the November elections carrying Trump on its back and with only one major accomplishment - a tax bill that polls poorly and delivers most benefits to big corporations and the rich.

Here's Doug Jones' victory speech (compressed to three minutes).

Ok, how do I respond to a particular post, rather than entire thread?

You can use the "quote" option that appears at the bottom of the specific message you want to respond to.

One potential problem, however, if the person you are writing responds by quoting your response and you respond to his response using quote and so on, we can end up with an enormous set of nested messages!

In any event, we're still learning. Have fun!

Ok, there must be another way, and we will find it. We are definately in learning mode.

We've discovered that "Quoting" only extends up to the previous level. So there is no problem with nested quotes.

If folks want to reply to a specific message, they can use "quote" which will generate a notice to the person quoted.

If folks want to respond to the entire forum, they can just use the "Write something . . ." window at the bottom of the thread. If they want to respond to a different person, they should use "quote."

I also have found if you go into your notifications list, you can respond to that post to you. If the post you are responding to, isn’t addressed to you, quoting is best option. We are figuring it out and frankly, I like it. Much faster than old software.

The notification list is VERY handy! I discovered it a few days ago.

We aren't doing too bad considering that we've only been at this for four days.
